Aloha! The summer is slowly coming to an end and you know what that means? Kids are in school and travel deals will be popping up like crazy! It is the perfect opportunity to visit Hawaii where it is summer all year long. This week’s post will feature adventures from the beautiful island of Oahu. There are two main parts to Oahu, the main city, Waikiki Beach is like Vegas on the Beach, very touristy-- plenty of bars and restaurants catering to tourist. If you want a calmer experience on the island head over to North Shore of the Island, not as crowded but limited nightlife. Here are some logistics: The main airport is Honolulu Airport, from there it’s a 20-30 minute drive to Waikiki (depending on traffic), even further if you are staying on the North Shore of the Island. Rent a car , public transportation “The Bus” is very reliable but if you only have a short amount of time I would rent a car.

Where to stay? We stayed at the Park Shore Waikiki Hotel located at the tail end of Waikiki Beach. This was a last minute trip for the bf and I so we tried to find a “budget friendly” hotel. Park Shore is just steps away from the beach, International Market Place, Honolulu Zoo. The Pros: Friendly Staff, in room fridge, complementary beach towels. Cons: $25 Valet Parking, Rooms are small and outdated, elevators are slow. Hotel also connects to an ABC store, which is the Hawaiian Version of CVS. Stock up on Spam Musubi and Beer here There is also a bar at the hotel LuLu’s Waikiki that serves Hawaiian specialities and killer mai tais and at night local bands and DJ's play....
