Island Adventure #3: Food Feast + Dancing


What is a Luau? It's a giant family party with lots of food, drinks, dancing, and drunk dancing. There are three main Luaus on the Island of Oahu, Paradise Cove, the Polynesian Cultural Center, and Germaine’s Luau. Germaine's is one of the oldest Luau's on the Island. Since 1976, Germaine’s Luau has been entertaining tourist. Germaine’s provides an all you can eat buffet with tasty Hawaiian favorites— Kalua Pig (Roast Pig) Chicken Long Rice Teriyaki Beef, Lomi Lomi Salmon (sort of like a Salmon Salsa), just to name a few. Stick to the Hawaiian Favorites… except for the Poi (werid texture). Dinner also includes all nonalcoholic beverages and if you are over 21 you’ll get three beverage coupons. While you are enjoying dinner, the show begins and showcases all the difference dances from the different South Pacific Island. Pricing is $80 for Adult with a free transfer from Waikiki. If you an AAA Card there is a discount, or if you have friends who live on the island ask them to buy you tickets since they offer a discount to residence.

Few tips: It is about 30 miles away from Waikiki in an industrial part, so don’t be alarmed if you see industrial buildings; get there early so you can sit in the middle to get the best view; but don't sit too close to the front, you might be ask to particiate; bring a light jacket it might be chilly; Other than that be open minded and enjoy the night! A Hawaiian Luau should be something you do once in your life!
