Scary October Adventures #1: Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios

Can you believe it’s already Fall? Soon it will be Thanksgiving and Christmas! This week’s posts will be dedicated to events that only happen in October, especially the scary events. I hate being scared I dread watching scary movies and if I have to, my eyes are closed half the time. But the bf is the complete opposite he loves watching scary movies and what goes bump in the night. So on a random date night I thought of taking him to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. Each year Universal Studios is transformed into a live horror movie filled with mazes, shows, and lots of dead people walking around. This year’s theme is The Walking Dead.

Here are the tips: Buy your tickets in advance for a discount and this event does sell out; tickets prices are different everday, so check the calendar for ticket prices and discounts; no costumes/mask allowed; bring some comfortable shoes if you go during peak times the lines can be up to 2 hours long; bring a jacket it can get a little chilly; if you are 21+ grab a beer then fall in line; the event starts at 7pm and ends at 2am, you probably don’t need the whole night there; if you can’t wait front of the line passes are available; girls if you scream and run the monster will chase after you even more, stay calm and they won’t bother you that much; parking is between $16-35 depending on what you pass you buy. I would suggest using the Metro Red Line but I’m not 100% sure if there will be tram running from the metro station to the park…

Before/After: Grab drinks before or after Halloween Horror Night at Universal City Walk Karl Strauss Brewing Company. For food I suggest Saddle Ranch but if you can eat dinner before you get to Universal Studios, food is pricy and underwhelming.
