Little Tokyo Adventures #1: Brunch + Culture

Short hiatus because of school but I’m back. This week’s adventures will be focus on Little Tokyo/Arts District. Little Tokyo’s roots date back into the 1880s. Everyone known that Little Tokyo is home to the best sushi, ramen, and Japanese tapas but also one of my favorite brunch places. Jist Café is a tiny brunch place serving Asian inspired breakfast dishes.

Now here is the “Jist”: Price: $-$$ ($9-11/person); Open from 7am- 3pm everyday but Monday; metered street parking is available or $7 parking lot next door; head over to the counter to order then find a seat either inside or on the patio; patio is doggie friendly; good for group of 6 or less.

What to order? Loose Leaf Tea Green; Stumptown Coffee; Hangover Killers (Short Ribs Dish) or Chashu Hash Skillet. When I was there I ordered their Special Lucky Ducky- Chinese Green Onion Pancake with Duck Confit.

After brunch head over to the Japanese Museum to see some Japanese art, artifacts and historical exhibits. Adults $9 Studuents w ID $5, Children under 5 Free. Probably need an hour or two to go through the museum.
